Membership (Dues Policy)
Functionally, there are two categories of membership: active and inactive. Active members are current on their dues and are entitled to check out items from the library, to rent equipment, to receive preferential rates and early-bird registration on
workshops and classes sponsored by Clotho's and to participate in Clotho's online discussion group. Life members are permanent active members.
Inactive members are former members who are not current on their dues. They receive none of the benefits of active members. Like visitors, inactive members may attend the monthly meetings. As soon as the annual dues are paid, an inactive member's status instantly becomes active.
The fiscal year for Clotho's is from July to June. There is a two-month grace period for the payment of dues. Any member who has not paid their dues by September 1st will acquire the status of inactive member.
Currently, dues are $25.00 per fiscal year with no prorating regardless of the month a member joins. For example, if you pay dues to become an active member in May, then in July you will pay dues again to renew your membership along with everyone else.
Want to become a member? Please attend a meeting and talk to Clotho's treasurer. You will need to give the treasurer your dues and your contact information. Checks are the preferred method of payment, payable to Clotho's Handspinners.
